Go Pack Go!!

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Bunny has season tickets to Lambeau and are EXTREMELY generous. Every year they gift us the Packer/Viking game and this year was THE BEST!  It was in September (obviously) and the home opener so Green Bay was lit up.

Originally we had offered to take Jimmy and Melanie, however, she's still in the 1st few weeks of college so decided that it wasnt prudent, so Jimmy went back to the drawing board.

Isaiah was the lucky friend that got to go with us to Green Bay for the game.

We are also blessed that Aunt Sue lives in Green Bay in a gorgeous apartment overlooking the boardwalk and bay. We were able to stay with her, enjoy her place and she even treated us to dinner. It was such a treat, delicious but a bit of a logistics disaster (after waiting an hour for our food we realized the waitress forgot to put the order in. Plus, they ran out of the dish I ordered, silverware and wine....hmmmm)

In Green Bay there are 2 bridges, one is always lit green & gold and the other gets lit with the opposing teams colors, purple this week.  You can also see Lambeau in the distance from her view so its an all around cool vibe.

Game morning was 6 eggs, 8 waffles, an english muffin and chocolate milk between the 2 boys. Good thing because they were too into the game to get up and get any food. They were starving by the end!

The plan was to get to the stadium, walk around, take it all in, visit the Tailgate Village and then Jimmy/Isaiah would enjoy the game in the seats and Sue/I would watch from the Tailgate Village.  It was THE BEST!  And, not only because the Packers won. in fact, I would drive to Green Bay JUST to watch the game from the Village.  They stream the game from the stadium so no commercials. There was a live band, food and beer and the crowd was totally into it. It was a really fun way to get the Lambeau experience.

The game itself was a nail biter so we stayed until the bitter end.

Sue caught the shuttle home and we bolted out of town (got to love that all roads are one way away from Lambeau at the end of the game, you can get out of town in < 10 minutes) and raced all the disappointed Viking fans home. The boys were quiet and sullen until we stopped in Wausau.  Food helped and we made it home in record time (despite the glaring fall sun in my eyes)

THANK YOU Dad, Mom and Sue. It was truly a once in a live time weekend. XOXOX

(PS. As a bonus, making it an even BETTER weekend, Tom and Kay had a full page "to do" list and got it ALL done. Including purging her room, for the 1st time since we moved back from Toronto.  Woo Hoo! Way to go Kay!!)
A clean room!
