Busy weekend - Prom, Mothers Day, Fishing, etc

May is always a super busy month with the end of the school year, concerts, fishing, MS150 training, mothers day, etc.

Fun stuff - I'll give an photo update, but 1st non-photo updates ...
~ Jimmy is starting to work on law school applications, he got a "good enough" score on his LSAT and has great grades (another 4.0 this semester) and has a short list of schools his interested.  Exciting!

~ Tom has surgery coming up, similar to his right arm 25 years ago. He's bummed because it means no fishing or golf until late summer. Have to agree, that is a bummer.

~ Tracy formally announced that she's going to be leaving her position in the next year, hopefully posting the job description in the fall. SUPER excited to help set up MORA for success and for the next adventure (hopefully an hourly job closer to home - fingers crossed)

~ Billy took Tracy to the new Puss in Boots movie for Mothers Day - SO fun and a great message, a definitely must see!

~ Tracy has been on her bike, training, every day for the last 10 days and was able to do a 20  mile ride with Wendy on Sunday.  Plus have raised 1/2 the goal (goal $5,000) so...getting there!

Ok, on to the photo updates!

Solomon is the new "face" of Ralph Lauren - so exciting!

Dwight and Oliver (TKD kids) came down to see Billys choir concert

The birds are back!!

He sure knows how to accessorize!

Looking good !

Exchanging corsages, etc

Billy's date, Vivian, looked gorgeous

The gang, love the diversity and creativity!

Cedric, far right, also happens to be a neighbor, fun surprise to see him in this group! He started attending HHS his senior year, always tough.

He's such a romantic - he bought her a stuffed animal, gorgeous butterfly necklace which matches his cuff links and the butterflies in her hair. I suspect that he likes her more than she likes him but he's happy to become her friend.

Billy bought 24 roses for the choir to hand out the choir director in their final concert

Fishing opener in northern MN, gorgeous lake and TONS of fish

Fish tacos for Mothers Day dinner!

Getaway

FINALLY! Tom bought me a snowshoeing micro cabin weekend for Christmas and we were meant to go in February. And then the dreaded COVID hit our whole house so we had to move it!

Good thing we did! We went this last weekend and it was not only lovely, the weather cooperated and it was very much needed!  The kids did great with us being out of town (no emergency phone calls) and we were able to explore the Willow River/Moose Lake area. We did it all!

Biked the Munger Trail (twice) - LOTS of trees down, looks like carnage from the winter

Card games - I actually beat Tom at cribbage and we tried to learn Spite and Malice (favorite childhood game) But I think we are missing important parts of the directions. ...hmmm...

Food - YES! We can make really good food with only a 2 burner electric store, of course we can!

Hiking - hiked Banning State Park and saw some crazy kayakers and waterfalls, super accessible, beautiful (and the water looked cold!)

Hunting property - Visited Tom's old hunting property, remembered Greg D and shared stories about all those crazy people and crazy time.

Local eats - had junk food and a drink at the infamous Squirrel Cage and lunch/take home treats from Tobies (of course!)

Read - we both finished our books and loved just hanging out, relaxing in this gorgeous tiny place - tis super efficient and relaxing.

A big thanks to Uncle Pat for helping with the dogs and to our kids for adulting..

Love you all and grateful for our time to reconnect, with nature, ourselves and each other.

PS, Jimmy got a "good enough" score on his LSAT so now he's doubling down on the other aspects of law school applications. Billy took his AP Stat's test and felt like it went well (a 3 maybe even 4 is his prediction) and Kay had another super success week living in her own place.  Proud of each of them for different and important reasons.
