Jeremiah Michael Murphy-Himself

Dad, Uncle, Brother, Best Friend to too many to count. That is my Dad. He was always looking out for people always with a smile and playing cribbage any chance he could.

This past year was very hard on Dad especially after losing his wife of 61 years, our Mom Kay. She has been waiting for him and they are finally back together.

Jeremiah was and is one of the reasons Tom has a love for food. At an early age Jeremiah was into food, he was not the best cook, however he could make a mean sandwhich. He was always stealing menus from every restaurant he went to and would hang them on our basement wall, we all wish to this day we would have kept them.

Jerry and Kay were quite the pair. They were always together exploring the US and the world and we were grateful that they were able to come and visit us in India, having a picture with both sets of Grandparents in front of the Taj Mahal is truly priceless. They loved to travel, play golf and cribbage, throw parties and be with their family & friends.

There are way too many stories to tell, memories to share about both my Mom and Dad.  I would be however remiss if I did not share at least one story. Jerry and Kay were in town from Florida (the reason I don't remember) and they were staying with Tracy and I. We came home from work one day and there were several cars in our driveway? When we went inside my parents were clearly having a dinner party in our house! Tom's Mom pulled us aside and said " I hope you don't mind we decided to have a few friends over" we replied that's fine, to which Tom's Mom replied " Good because we did not make enough food for you"

I miss them everyday, they're smiles, laughs and hugs. They taught us all that there is always room for one more at our table, to celebrate life and to have a sense of faith.

May the road rise up to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face

And the rain fall soft on your fields.

And until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Mom and Dad I love you both to the moon and back.
