We did it! My 27th MS150 in the books and what a
great MS150 year it was! I’d like to thank you for the collective
thoughts that brought the ‘cold wave’ to us for the ride!! (“cold” being
relative. It was < 90 degrees😊)
If you are one of the generous friends that already donated, THANK YOU!! It truly means the world to me….

Friday:
- A quick
individual spin by each of us. Goal => 25 miles. I did 2 12.5
mile loops before 10am…
- Tradition
of camping Friday night in a tent and eating Mexican food- Yes!
Wendy and I enjoyed El Jefe and glamped in the big tent in her backyard.
(having access to an indoor toilet was WONDERFUL!)
- The
ride reserves the 1st 150 rider numbers for top fundraisers
from the prior year. I was # 29 and I think Ned was #14 with over $7k. Not
too shabby!
Saturday:
- The
only organized ride as part of the MS150. Up and at ‘em!!!
Needed to meet Ned in Blaine and have butts on bikes by 6:30am for our
scheduled start time!!
- 75 mile
route in a loop from Blaine to Stillwater and back. Who knew you
could even do that?! The 1st ½ of the ride was delightful
(no wind, cool), the 2nd ½ was up hill, 22 mph headwinds and
steadily climbing temps. But we DID IT!
Sunday:
- A 50
mile ride ‘out and back’ on the Dakota Trail. Flat, shaded and
lovely. My perfect ride.
- Butts
on bikes at 7:00 am, we checked off another MS150 tradition; “lunch” at
Subway (10:30am) and my yearly back bend.
- Done
and driving home at Noon, it was a super relaxing morning ride.
Started at 62 degrees, ended at 88 degrees and I took an afternoon nap in
the shade with Maui.
