Tom & Jimmys excellent adventure

Flying into DC then driving down to Lexington all with one goal in mind, seeing Jimmy and bringing him home for a few days once school was out. He was more than ready to hit the road and head too DC for a couple of days to find his digs for the summer, figure out where he was working as well as working out and to have some great food!

Tom arrived late in the morning to VMI and meet Jimmy and 2 of his besties and they all went out for lunch. Then was the task of getting 10 lbs of stuff into a 5 lb container however it was accomplished! Then they said goodbye to all of Jimmy's football b buddies and their families and hit the road for DC.

They had great plans to get to DC hit the monuments and really live it up! However Jimmy was tired so they headed over to the closest Korean Resturant they could find for dinner. What a find the food was the top 3 of all Korean Food ( Mrs Choi and Tom hold 1 & 2) it was amazing not only in quality but quantity. Jimmy told Tom on the way in if you're the only white guy in here we may have found a gold mine!   Tom was and they did!

Saturday they spent the day locating Jimmy's apartment for the summer, the subway and how to get from the apartment to work and back. The Supreme Court, the Capital, The House of Representatives all had the lad in awe...They also found the local health club where Jimmy can work out all in all a busy but productive day.

Jimmy is now 6.225 and weights 231 pounds, he is huge and over the next 9 weeks he has to gain 10+ pounds and eat 5240 calories a day! We can only hope he learns how to cook!

Jimmy was bound and determined to get two more tattoos and was not to be stopped, Kids!

The two of the arrived home late Saturday night we had a great family reunion, Kay and Billy were happy to have him home as of course did Mom and Dad! Next up is buying a DC wardrobe but more importantly Kay is set to graduate from High school in a few days, more to come!

Love,

Mothers Day

What a year it has been! WOW

We are truley blessed having all these great women and Mom's in our lives without them we would not even be here. This is the first Mother's Day  without Tom's Mom and she is missed everyday Grandma/Mom Kay was always with a smile and a kind word.

This Mothers Day as we honor all Mom's we are looking through the history of the Pandamenic, Social injustices, Systemic racism all rearing their ugly heads for us to see. Mom's everywhere could be heard fighting these and many other battles and for that we are grateful!

Tracy had a busy year hiking, exploring with friends and family, limited travel but we figured out how to do family zoom meetings and she taught us how to play bingo online to name a few events. She also worked tirelessly with her team at work to keep the clients and families safe during these troubled times. Getting them all vaccinated and her was well so they could continue to advocate for those they
serve.

We are thankful and grateful for Grandma's Kay and Bunny, Aunt Tammy and Julie Great Aunt Sue and Tracy! For all you do thank you for all you are were are blessed for keeping us together as family has no words to describe.

Happy Mother's Day we love you!

The Things

Jeremiah was bound and determined to go to Florida this year and after several failed attempts to talk him out of it Things 1-7 decided we would all go visit him for the last weekend of his trip.

Kevin was gracious enough to volunteer to travel with Dad for the whole 2 and a half weeks he as in Florida what could possibly go wrong! dad did have a great time visited with the few surviving friends he still has there, went to lunch, a coulee of dinners and was able to get to church everyday. The car accident is something we will just not talk about.

Brian arranged a VRBO for us right on the beach in Fort Meyers which was just big enough for the 6 of us, Kevin and Dad had their own place. We were introduced to skippy ball from Dan, a very therapeutic competitive beach game. The premise of the game is to bounce or skip the ball off the water and the other player has to catch the ball if they drop the ball the skipper gets a point play to 10 win by two. Thats it.
We also learned how to play Monopoly Deal arguably the greatest game of all time. It is like regular monopoly except no board and it plays really fast. So we basically played this two games the entire time we were there.

Tom made several fabulous meals including Cajun Pork Cops with leeks, radishes and gorgonzola a spicy and creamy seafood chowder with homemade soft pretzels. On Saturday night we celebrated Brian's birthday and he wanted a taco bar so Dan and Tom teamed up and had a blast in the kitchen and on the grill creating an awesome meal.

Katie thought it would be great to have matching t-shirts and arranged for the Things1-7 as well as a Father of all Things for Dad, she neglected to ask ahead of time as to how much they cost and we when we found out they were $50 a piece she received several unblogable comments!

It was a great sibling trip we couldn't remember the last time we we're all together and we of course missed our Mom. The Beach Bar was our Mom's favorite place on the island so we had to make a trip to get lunch and of course beach bread.

Thanks to everyone for contributing to the fun it was great to see Dad in Florida we could all tell he had a great time while he was there.
